2010 - A Day in the Life - week 13

March 28 ( A big fat fail. And the sad part is I think I really need to do this challenge.  I have no idea what happened this day. Zip.) March 29 The moon rising over the rocky hills east of my house.  March 30 The beautiful signs of spring. March 31 The *really* expensive 3-week supply of antibiotics for our  sweet 11-year-old puppy's UTI.  April 1 Love her concentration. She was putting stickers on recently dyed eggs she was  taking to school in the morning for an Easter egg hunt.   (Love her eyelashes too!) April 2 The flowers on the Easter dress she wore to school for the Easter party. April 3 T before the Easter Vigil where he received the sacraments and officially  became a Catholic.

The Journey

At RCIA this week we had a discussion about what we liked and didn't like about our retreat last weekend.  I think mentioned the retreat in passing, on twitter at least.  I love trying to understand people.  I always have.  There was a point in my early college days that I thought I wanted to major in sociology or psychology because I love (like big-puffy-heart love) pondering the whys of someone.  I have practiced on myself endlessly.  So retreats to me are awesome on so many levels.  You get to learn about people's stories and I get to tell some of mine.  These stories that make up our lives are what make us who we are.  Little know fact.  T and I broke up 8 months after we first dated.  I went away to college and the long distance relationship at just barely 18 was too much for me.  I admit that I allowed a friendship with someone else take T's place.  I broke T's heart.  I am not proud of myself.  I was ...

Wherein I find peace

Last night and most of today I spent at church with T in a retreat for RCIA.  Have you ever been to a retreat?  The only kinds I have been to are church retreats.  Today we likened them to a shortened version of basic training without the exercise; lack of sleep, tears, strength coming out that you didn't know you had, realizations about yourself. Background info: I've been thinking lately about where my state of mind has been lately.  If you follow me on twitter you know the last week has been insane and I was pretty much a stressed out wreck.  But in looking back at the last couple of months I have realized that my heart is happy.  If you checked out my Happiness  post from earlier in the week #10 states that "I am so very happy to be who I am." I had a major emotional issue last September.  One that rocked me to my core.  I was questioning a friendship that I thought was solid.  I was open and honest and I caused a lot of pain in sear...
