Sunday 5/22 Bari and I on the shuttle back to the airport from Fitbloggin .  We might have been delirious at this point.  In fact, it's quite likely.  Monday 5/23 Sass decided since camping that my BSU beanie is her new favorite hat.  I personally think she looks pretty cute.  Tuesday 5/24 Steak.  It's what was for dinner.  Wednesday 5/25 It was a hat day.  Thursday 5/26 A beautiful day!  (I sorta wonder what happened to it; it's cold now) Friday 5/27 Mmm. Dinner out for date night.  Bailey's, fresh sourdough Falafel spoons, salmon The salmon? Was probably in the best lemon/white wine sauce I've ever had.  Saturday 5/28 Me and Sass volunteering at the swim meet.

Vulnerability

Being away from my normal environment this weekend at Fitbloggin' allowed my brain time to think and relax and be able to put coherent thoughts together. I miss feeling like I can voice my inner dialogue. It's true that there are some things that are too personal for me to share here but that doesn't mean that I can't spend some time thinking about the concept behind the issue and still share a piece of me. I've watched some of my favorite loverly bloggers revamp their blogs and grow and evolve. I have been feeling like that's what I need to do. But the heart of this blog is my little corner on the world and my perspective. Life has felt overwhelming this year. Pinpointing why is hard. Yes, I have a lot on my plate. Yes, I'm a part-time working full-time mom to my girls who challenge me daily. But I wouldn't change my life for one second. I adore my girls even though I want to strangle them some days. They are growing up so fast and some days I forget th

Just a short little post here about my amazing weekend in Baltimore for the Fitbloggin'11 conference. First, I want to thank profusely The Sisterhood for holding the giveaway that allowed me to attend. I *may* need to start saving now for next year just ensure I can go. It started with a late arrival and an early morning run. And with lots of awesome in between that I will blog about when I've properly slept. (I do have to share this little bit of awesome though...) This would be me doing one-armed pushups. That's Andrea Metcalf of Today Show fame in the background who schooled me in proper form. (I was showing up some firefighters that were having a convention at the same hotel.) Fitbloggin ended with Bari and I taking the shuttle to the airport together. So much fun was had. I big HUGE puffy heart The Sisterhood and getting to hang with mah hookers again was without a doubt a major highlight in my year. These ladies are amazing. I am so proud to be among their ranks. MW

Oh my

I've been in a blogging slump lately.  There is either not enough time to get it all done or I feel like what I want to say isn't really appropriate to be sharing across the internets.  Not that I don't love you all, because I do, but there's the whole privacy of others that needs to be respected.  Eh.  What are you gonna do, right? The kids are finishing up their last couple of weeks of school.  Some days happy to know the years is almost over and some days trudging through the day because "why can't I just be done already?"  Yeah, me too, kid! I have yet to begin *any* kind of packing for our 5-week cross country road trip.  I suppose I should probably start making lists or something.  But right now I'm focused on getting a little reprieve from daily life when tomorrow afternoon I am heading to Baltimore for FitBloggin!  I'm quite excited.  I wasn't sure how I was going to make this happen when I found out my name was picked for the free conf

But it's a tech tee.  And it was free.  So I will wear it.) Wednesday 5/4 The tulips blooming outside of Sweet Pea's school. Thursday 5/5 Happy Cinco de Mayo!! Friday 5/6 Sweet Pea singing songs at the Mother's Day luau at school. Saturday 5/7 This? So yummy.  Our friend Ray, who was visiting this weekend,  bought it for me because he knew I liked it and wanted to say "thanks"  for us putting him up for the weekend.  It had been almost 5 years since we've seen him.  It was good.

You Capture - Outside

Image
Oh man, how I've missed You Capture.  I just have been in a slump and unmotivated to take pictures lately.  Which makes me sad, but when you're motivation escapes you, it's hard to find out why and then get back into the swing of things.  But I'm happy to report I've got pictures! From the outdoors!  Yay!! My self portrait in front of the Reno arch before my last half marathon.  It was a beautiful morning if not a bit on the chilly side... which in my opinion makes for the best runs.  My oldest girl at her gymnastics banquet.  I  love how the not only does the sun shine of her hair beautifully,  I actually caught a real smile.  They don't happen enough.  Love her.so.much.  Check out what other outdoorsy pictures were taken at Beth's .
