Sunday 5/1 Ashley, Beki and I post 13.1.  Monday 5/2 The rose my girls brought me last week.  Tuesday 5/3 Me.  On the treadmill.  Wearing my pink  shirt from Sunday's race.  (Why pink? But it's a tech tee.  And it was free.  So I will wear it.) Wednesday 5/4 The tulips blooming outside of Sweet Pea's school. Thursday 5/5 Happy Cinco de Mayo!! Friday 5/6 Sweet Pea singing songs at the Mother's Day luau at school. Saturday 5/7 This? So yummy.  Our friend Ray, who was visiting this weekend,  bought it for me because he knew I liked it and wanted to say "thanks"  for us putting him up for the weekend.  It had been almost 5 years since we've seen him.  It was good.

One year ago

One year ago this weekend something major happened in my life.  Something amazing and wonderful and hilarious and heart-filled-with-love kind of weekend.  Anyone have a guess of what it was? Anyone? It was lovingly called HR2010.   Hooker Retreat 2010 .  (Unfortunately there isn't going to be an official HR2011 - but Fitbloggin '11 will sorta take it's place.)  Most of us who attended were on Team Shrinking Jeans and busy training for the half marathon at Rock N Roll San Diego. There was  hair cutting  and running and drinking and a ton of laughter . It was an amazing weekend.  I can.not wait to see most of these ladies in Baltimore next month.  We will be missing Heather, Tiffany, Amanda, and Elaine. We really need that Hooker Commune of 100 acres, so we can always have a fun filled weekend.  Because you know that we'd have cabana boys and nannies and maids there. Miss you ladies.  Can't wait to hug most of you either at Fitbloggin...

Rock N River Half Marathon

If you've paid any attention to me on twitter you'd know that I was a smidge nervous about this half.  Why was I nervous? Well my first scheduled 12-mile training run that I finished in Texas a week or so ago was not a happy run for me.  In fact, the self-proclaimed it's-easier-for-me-to-keep-running-rather-than-do-walk/run-intervals ran 6 miles and then walked/ran the last 6.  They were hard miles.  I wanted to wuss out at 10 miles.  I felt fatigued and unmotivated.  I'm not sure if I felt that I let myself down or I let my girls down.  You see, this whole Team in Training idea was mine.  I was so excited when The Sisterhood decided to start running.  'Cuz running is my thang.  I've always enjoyed it.  And I've felt responsible to hold up my end of the bargain - being the "good running role model". So Saturday night I was talking to T and told him that I needed his running mojo for the morning.  I needed the mojo that allowed ...
