2012 Day in the Life - Week 12

Image
Sunday 3/18 A little peek from blue sky amongst the windy and clouds.  Monday 3/19 Lunch. Twas yummy.  English muffin, egg, cheese, and bacon. Tuesday 3/20 Today was not a good day for me emotionally.  So Sweet Pea and I went to the park and got on the swings side-by-side.  Wednesday 3/21 My bed.  It was calling to me.   And it was made.  Weird, I know . Thursday 3/22 These boxes.  I hope to be filling them soon.   Friday 3/23 This girl? I luffs her.  She came up with her accessories on her own.   And then posed for me when I asked for a picture.   Saturday 3/24 This may not look like much, but there used to be a hole in my wall.   It's been there for 2+ years.   It's now patched.   Halle-freaking-lujah

LaraBar winner!

Well I almost forgot to pick a winner last night. And then I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed and couldn't figure out random.org. (Don't laugh. Yesterday was not a great day for me.) But I remembered Bari using a fun slot machine name picker, so I spent 10 minutes finding her last giveaway winner. And because I was at my desktop and it doesn't like me to do anything fun on it, I couldn't screen shot. So I did the next best thing and took a picture of the screen with my phone. Gotta love tech, right? Without further ado.... Brooke!! I have your address and will pass it along to the LaraBar peeps. They will mail your bars directly. Thanks everyone who entered. 2012 - A Day in the Life - Week 11

Sunday 3/11 The sky just seemed to go on forever.  Monday 3/12 This latest haircut combined with some new sleeping habits (?) has left me with some awesome bed head lately . Tuesday 3/13 My Sweet Pea requested to help feed the chickens.  It was a good, albeit cold, day to make that happen.  Wednesday 3/14 These dang cats. Despite the messy nature of my desk. (Which is its natural state) They are sitting on papers I need to work.  They do this almost every night.  Thursday 3/15 It was a decent day out my front window.  Friday 3/16 I kept waiting for the appropriate moment to post this picture on twitter.  It screams to me... "PICK ME! PICK ME!" My Pumpkin cat was purring and kept spreading her toes.  Saturday 3/17 My never-get-pinched-again tat.  Happy St. Paddy's Day!

Lara Bars...you know you want some!

I love me some protein/granola/snack bar type eats. I've got three kids, work full-time in odd hours and some days I am one of those people who now forgets to eat. I know, I know, I never understood those people either. As I'm running out the door some days to play chauffeur, I'll grab a bar to tide me over until what is usually dinner. Lara bars are some of my favorites. Though I will admit since I've yet to see them at Costco (where I do most of my shopping) I don't buy them as often as I would like. But today is your lucky day today. Well actually next Wednesday *could* be your lucky day as Lara has offered one of my lucky readers 2 Peanut Butter Cookie bars and 2 Cherry Pie bars. I haven't tried either one of these flavors yet but I love the Blueberry Muffin and Peanut Butter and Jelly bars. I'm sure these two flavors will not disappoint. So...how do you enter? 1. Leave me a comment telling me your favorite on-the-go snack. 2. Tweet this giveaway and l

Sunday 3/4 enjoying a little picnic Monday 3/5 She was thrilled I let her spend her own money on a decaf mocha frap.  Waaay too much sugar for her. So glad it was decaf.  Tuesday 3/6 Thanks, Bari! Wednesday 3/7  These are two main pieces of jewelry I wear.   They are my daily reminders. Thursday 3/8 Blue skies and  mountains.  Two of my favorite things.  Friday 3/9 Deer.  In town.  I always have to stop and take pictures when I see them.  It blows my mind they they come this far into town.  Saturday 3/10 I wish I could remember this one's name.   He was sweet, but was also very disappointed that I didn't come bearing treats.

Peace

random ponderings

Perspective.  I've acquired a lot of it over my life.  Wisdom comes with age, right? This last year has been full of perspective and enlightenment about myself.  Realizing things I didn't know.  Or more accurately didn't want to admit.  I hate being wrong.  I think most people do.  Having kids taught me that if I expected them to own up to their mistakes that I had to walk the walk.  When I mess up with them? I lose my temper, I forget to do something I said I would do, I do something that hurts their hearts?  I apologize.  Because they need to know that it's okay be human and make mistakes.  We all do.  And it's okay.  But be honest. What I also hope to teach them...and I think the only way to teach is through action...is that you have to trust but you must do so carefully and wisely.  And you can't have the wisdom to be cautious until you've been hurt.  And the ones you least expect to hurt you are probably the ones who will.  And the ones you don't th

Sunday 2/26 My quiet afternoon.  Monday 2/27 A new beginning. Reading up.  Tuesday 2/28 Puzzle day with Sweet Pea.   Wednesday 2/29 It was Science Fair night! Thursday 3/1 I love the mountains when they are snowy.  I could have done without the 25+ mph wind gusts though.  Friday 3/2 Margarita with dinner out.  Saturday 3/3 I love when she falls asleep on me at bedtime.   I'm going to miss it when she finally grows out of this stage.
