#Insaneroadtrip day 3

Today? Was fabulous. I'm so glad that I chose to spend a day of down time between each day in the car. Waking up in Prescott was amazing. It was cool and sunny and beautiful out.



We started the day with a pancake breakfast and the kids watching a movie on the couch. We then headed out for a little hike. It was so pretty out. Perfect temperature. Though Sweet Pea took a digger literally 2 minutes into the walk complete with a bloody knee. Luckily she recovered pretty quickly.



After our hike we headed over to a park where the kids blew off some more energy. They played for about a half hour and then Tiffany took us into the old part of Prescott and ate lunch at A yummy local pizza place. The kids followed it up with an ice cream cone.



We hung out for a bit in the little town square area and then headed back to the house to gather all our stuff and drive the 90 minutes to Phoenix. It was a pretty drive. I love the desert. When we got back to Phoenix the kids mellowed out watching a bit of tv followed by lots of craziness on their part. Dinner was delicious.

As I sit here typing Tiffany is reading the kids a bedtime story.



Tomorrow? Tomorrow has the drive to Albuquerque. But before we head out the door, Tiffany is going to take me out to her canal for a run...at 530 a.m. I might be crazy. No. Insane really. After all this is #Insaneroadtrip.

It's been great to hang out here with Tiffany. I know it's only day 3 but I'm having fun and it seems the girls are too.

#insaneroadtrip day 17

Wow! It's amazing what happens when you sleep for 8 hours one night and 9 the next! You can cope with heat and humidity and sun and crowds and traffic. After enjoying a nice yummy breakfast (I had an omelet) we packed up the truck and headed out of Granny's place and off for the big city. We were meeting Thea at the Air & Space Museum and rode the metro in the north. The metro used to scare me, but not so much anymore. The maps are pretty too. We left T at a corner where he turned towards Starbucks to do homework and not hobble around in his boot. We went the opposite way towards l Air & Space. The wind is howling

Literally.  And a storm is brewing.  We are slated for up to 8 inches of snow.  (I just looked that up. And I'm not happy right now.)  I have a 14-mile run tomorrow.  Mmm. Not quite sure how that's going to work.  So tomorrow may be less crazy than originally anticipated.  I can't trudge through 14 miles of 8 inches of snow.  It shall be interesting because the storm is supposed to hit tonight and lighten up midday tomorrow and then hit again Saturday night through Sunday midday. This marathon training business is hard work.  Only time will tell what the weekend holds in the way of a run for me. So for now, I'll head out and cram as much as I can into this morning and this afternoon.  Birthday party tomorrow for the 8yo!! Let's get this show on the road!!
