#Insaneroadtrip day 4

Today has been long. It started off by getting up at 5 a.m. to run with Tiffany. Man, I love her. She's awesome. I'm going to have a hard time leaving all my girls behind. I've only had to say goodbye once so far and I was already sad. But we look good after a run on the canal near her house.



The girls and I packed up and headed out the door just after 8 a.m. We stopped for gas where I, being a good road tripper, have been washing my windows at ever fill up. Today? Today I raked my knuckles over the back window. Lovely.



Our drive was uneventful. Even when we got stopped in construction there was no complaining from the peanut gallery. I do love me some cactus though.



Today was a "short" day on the road of 7 hours. We pretty much stopped only for lunch or potty breaks. And there was only one point where I snarled at the kids. This fuzzy guy met us at my aunt's house.



We met up with my cousin and uncle for dinner.






I had a green chile cheeseburger for dinner. It was quite fabulous.




And then we came home and opened some wine. It was a good day. It was a little flashbacky when I got off the freeway. I lived in Albuquerque for over a year and in New Mexico for 2-1/2 years. So many memories, from the good, the bad, the ugly and the just plain weird. I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Brunch, shopping, a hike, eating and probable drinking. So here's to another good day on the #Insaneroadtrip.

#insaneroadtrip day 17

Wow! It's amazing what happens when you sleep for 8 hours one night and 9 the next! You can cope with heat and humidity and sun and crowds and traffic. After enjoying a nice yummy breakfast (I had an omelet) we packed up the truck and headed out of Granny's place and off for the big city. We were meeting Thea at the Air & Space Museum and rode the metro in the north. The metro used to scare me, but not so much anymore. The maps are pretty too. We left T at a corner where he turned towards Starbucks to do homework and not hobble around in his boot. We went the opposite way towards l Air & Space. 2010 - A Day in the Life - week 4

Can you believe that we've already made it through January? Four full weeks of 2010 have passed.  And here are my pictures to prove it! January 24 The last light bulb finally blew out in our ugly retro chandelier. This is the replacement.  It is not the most beautiful fixture, but it is 150% better than the old one. January 25 Sass laid out her ski clothes anatomically the night before. (This is too cute! There is even the hat and scarf!) January 26 Can you say blizzard?  Sass is in front. Smarty Pants is right behind her. January 27 This may not seem very interesting, but if you know me -  the fact that you can see the top of the desk at all is pretty miraculous!
