#insaneroastrip day 13
Day 13 started out lovely. I awoke at about 8 a.m. and laid in bed quietly dozing in and out of sleep for the next hour staring out the window at the peacefulness.

The kids were worn out too.

After we finally got up and had breakfast, we started getting ready for our hike in the Smokies. I was excited! The weather was cool an gorgeous. So different from Louisiana. We decided on a shorter hike than the one we originally had looked at.

Grotto Falls here we come! The girls did really well on the hike with few complaints.

The falls were beautiful. Even with a bunch of other hikers it still peaceful.

The 10yo and the 5yo had to take their shoes off and put their feet in the water despite the temperature. On the way back down I was surprised to see this.

These two held hands 3/4 of the way down the trail happily and of their own accord. Not sure what that was all about but I wasn't going to argue.
For dinner we met up with one of Brooke's friends at Fuddruckers. Love me some Fuddruckers. On the way in I took this picture.

Brooke asked to hold my girl's hand in the parking lot. Heh.
We then all went to a ladies game night at Brooke's friend's church. There was childcare so girls played and hung out. Then it was time to get the girls home and to bed so I could go pick T up at the airport in Knoxville. I had a bit of an adventure as the GPS had me going on the back roads instead of the freeway. Which sorta freaked me out so it took me an extra 20-30 minutes to get there. I kept taking wrong turns. So glad it was just me and not the kids. When we got back to Brooke's it was after midnight and I was exhausted and crashed hard.
Day 14 has us headed into West Virginia to see Jessica! And...I don't have to drive!! Yay!
