#insaneroastrip day #6

Today? Today started out at 5 a.m. If you know me you know how painful that is. I only do that for race days or plane flights. But I was staring down an 11-hour car ride. *sigh* I might have been nervous. To be honest...it was a bit nerve-wracking. The last day in the car lead to me snarling. Today? Today was a good day. The girls did fabulous. There were moments of almost grumpiness but all in all they do fabulous. There isn't a whole lot to say about most of today just because, well, ELEVEN hours was spent in the car. I did stop by my old work place The Frontier Restaurant on the way out of Albuquerque to pick up fresh tortillas and green chile for Christy. Breakfast was breakfast burritos minus the green chile for the girls and with green chile for me. Delicious. Perfect way to start the day. The sun coming up over the Sandias was beautiful though.

We stopped in Roswell for a potty break. I also hit up Starbucks, because did you know 5 a.m. is really early. I was planning on stopping at the alien museum but in my sleep-deprived state I didn't see it. I'm sure I drove right passed it though. I did remember to stop at the state line to take pictures. And because I missed going into New Mexico because of a big truck, I turned around and made them take one in front of the Welcome to New Mexico sign. They were thrilled with the 103* temperature. Can you tell?

Sweet Pea wanted my sunglasses because it was all bright in the hot desert.

We finally made it to Christy's house!! Yay! She made me a drink in a special glass.

We ended up going out dinner and bringing the kids home for baths and bed. Christy and I are currently sitting on her porch with MollyDog.

Tomorrow should be mostly mellow. Which is what we need. I'm looking forward to sleep.
