#insaneroastrip day 7

Today was relaxing. We didn't do much. The kids played together inside and outside. I slept in until 8 and it was fabulous. Christy made yummy breakfast and coffee.

But the view is beautiful even though it has been a very dry here.

The kids wii'd and played with blocks and legos.

Midafternoon Amanda and her boys came down to spend the evening with us. Yes, I feel all special. Especially since she's doing her own insane road trip - not as many miles but she's heading north to Michigan.

We went to Neal's for dinner.

Can you say fried pickles?

This is me out on the deck of Neal's.

We came home and hung out. The kids had smoothie popsicles. Christy has baby swallows in the nest on her porch.

Finally the kids went to bed. Even though they were exhausted, they had trouble falling asleep. Sass told me she loved being here and didn't want to leave. But then 10 minutes later told me she was homesick. So I spent a lot of time snuggling with kids tonight.

I ended up back at Christy's house to watch Office Space, which I had never seen. We laughed. A lot. Today ended well. I'm gonna miss this place. It feels so relaxed and peaceful out in the middle no nowhere. Tomorrow it's off to Austin to see Lisa.
