#insaneroastrip day #8

Today was another sad and happy day. It started out waking up next to my oldest in Leakey. And knowing I needed to get up and moving but that moment was so peaceful, I didn't want to mess it up. But I got up and got the girls moving. After a shower and packing up the truck, I drove up to Christy's house for breakfast. The girls had already made their way up and were occupied with getting last minute playing in with Christy's kids. They were so cute together. One of the funniest things was Christy's boy had paid Sass for shoulder massages. Heh. I'm not sure how that arrangement was worked out. Sass does have an agreement with my brother that if she gives him shoulder rubs, he won't tickle her. She's a negotiator. Before dragging us all out the door we did take a couple pictures. (these are Christy's pictures.)

And off we went on our way to Lisa's house. We made a couple stops along the way even though it was only about 3-1/2 hours.

And then I was taken care of.

After the kids ran around for a bit crazy and laughing, we headed out for dinner.

The brisket was a hit with the girls. They ate it up.

I was originally planning on having Lisa take us to see the bats but I was tired and the girls needed baths. We ended up stopping at the pond area at the Y on the way home to feed the geese and ducks. They about ran us over.

Then back to the house for bath and bed. And a little of this.

Thanks for a good afternoon, Austin!

I'm very lucky to have such great friends. Very lucky indeed

  1. Love the pictures! And that Sass negotiates shoulder massages. That's awesome.
