Halling Go To Alaska

Sunday 10/23 Excuse the dustiness of my clock.  This is what the time was right before I passed out.  It's notable because I'm never in bed before 11.  Monday 10/24 This was the awesome wallet/clutch that was from Diana for  #vegasbaby weekend. I love it! Tuesday 10/25 This was the sky as we walked out of the pool.   Love sunsets over mountains.  Wednesday 10/26 Purchased for Meegan and #ICE  (international candy exchange) Thursday 10/27 She looks a little more vampirish with her pasty white-girl skin, huh?  Friday 10/28 Thin Mints.  From my freezer.  They were earned and enjoyed.  Saturday 10/29 I am so proud of this girl!! She rocked her meet.   Placing 1st or 2nd in all events and 1st in the all-around. 

So last weekend was a much anticipated trip to Vegas to celebrate Barb's 40th birthday.  We have been friends since...*gasp* 1995ish.  Damn...I'm getting old.  Anyway.  This was the trip that was announced around the beginning of the year, was almost voided this summer and then was back on.  On the agenda, aside from booze...I mean it *is* Vegas after all, were to go to the Neon Boneyard, see the dolphin/big cat exhibit at the Mirage...which is where we stayed...in the Penthouse of Awesome.  It was definitely awesome.  Especially for the three of us that were there.  I just wish I could have gone on Thursday when Barb and Diana got there.  Alas, life and reality. So I will just give you a preview of some of my favorite pictures.  Somehow we managed to not get a single picture with all of us in it.  How? No clue.  Ladies? We can't let that happen again.

Sunday 10/16 Big ass bowl of pumpkins seeds.  Yes, I roasted all of them.   Monday 10/17 I love this girl so much.   Even when she makes me crazy.  Tuesday 10/18 I'm the board for this school.  I'm proud to serve on it.  Wednesday 10/19 Mmm.  Coffee.   Mandatory lately.  Thursday 10/20 Came to bed to this.  The only problem? They were on my side of the bed.  Friday 10/22 Hydrating in anticipation of #vegasbaby Saturday 10/22 Loved the sunburst in this picture. 

Sunday 10/9 We were at the Apple Store. Photobooth has an "alien" setting.  This made me giggle on a day I needed to giggle.  Monday 10/10  Psst! I like clouds.  Tuesday 10/11 I might be getting addicted to Pinterest.  I wish someone would pay me to do this.  Wednesday 10/12 This little guy caught my attention.  He was on my bumper.  Thursday 10/13 Got my Run the Hood swag bag in the mail! Love the shirt! Friday 10/14 I've decided that this looks like a good place to run away to.  Who's coming with me? Saturday 10/15 My oldest with her BFF at her birthday party this weekend.  Her birthday isn't until the 23rd, but life is crazy, so this weekend it was.  How is it that I'm going to have an 11-year-old kid?  Not cool, universe.  Not cool. 

Wow. Week 40? Shoosh, Time.  You're going too fast. Sunday 10/2  My girl on her floor routine, for which she placed 3rd (I believe).   It was nice to see her competing again.  Despite the 4+ hours for a meet, I really enjoy them.  Monday 10/3 Almost forgot a picture.  The leaves are starting to change here.  Tuesday 10/4 The little one and I had a busy afternoon playing games and reading stories.  It's nice to be able to spend that time with her.  Wednesday 10/5 Yep.  I'm back to the cloud pictures.   I think my swimmer took this one on the way to Costco.  Thursday 10/6 Ooh! More clouds!  Friday 10/7 Sweet Pea waiting for her turn for picture day.  Saturday 10/8 This is the most creative way I've ever seen my name spelled.  Made me giggle on a Saturday morning. 

Fall is finally here.  Cooler temperatures.  Trees changing.  The light breeze that puts a chill in the air in the morning.  The seasons will always change whether we want them to or not.  I love fall.  Always have.  Fall seems fleeting though.  It never seems to last long enough before the chill of winter sets in.  But fall is definitely a transition, a transition that is inevitable.  One I look forward to and has always provided comfort to my soul.  Life is full of transition.  The kids go back to school.  Another birthday passes.  Last year's pants come out of storage to be tried on and it's then you realize how much they've grown.  You look in the mirror and see more gray, more lines on your face - hopefully from the joy in your life.  The shorter days.  The darker mornings.  Not wanting to get up because, man it's cold out there! Change.  Fall.  Autumn.  Life.

Wednesday 9/28 Man, I think she's cute... when she's in an agreeable mood. :) Thursday 9/29 "Mommy? Can we crochet today?" Friday 9/30 When I was in Chicago I bought the girls "Life is Good" socks  in their Midway Airport store.   They were so excited to put them on and exclaimed their soft/fuzziness profusely. Saturday 10/1 My wing girl.  She went shopping at Costco with me.  And pushed the cart as I hobbled along on my crutches.  I felt sharing an iced mocha frap was in order.
